MYOFASCIAL DRY NEEDLING
Myofascial Dry Needling derives from Acupunture and specifically targets trouble spots known as “trigger points”, these contracted muscle bundles are deactivated and released with super fine Acupunture needles. This approach is more anatomically based where as Acupunture is based on the ancient chinese philosophy of balancing ying and yang and needling meridians.
The trigger points used in Dry Needling would be assessed by the practitioner and focus would be on the areas of concern, several trigger points can be treated in a single session and usually can take up to 3 to 4 treatments to emilinate those that persist.
Dry Needling also can be used to strengthen tendons and ligaments by stimulating the local healing process. Following a Dry Needling treatment, some local pain or tenderness is common, but can be eased by applying a heat pack when at home. This treatment benefits patients with postural holding patterns and chronic pain problems.

They would place them on the body to draw out the fever plus helping the body to relax and also draw out muscle pain and tightness. The stones I use are black basalt (volcanic) stones, so they hold the heat well.
The stones are placed on top of the body on certain points and are also used to massage. I also combine remedial and deep tissue techniques with the hot stone treatment or can be used as a soothing relexation massage.
